The Asia Pacific Section of the IST was founded in 1987. It encompasses loosely the many countries in the Asia Pacific region, from western Asia to Japan to Australia. Since the first meeting of this section in 1987 in Singapore, there have been regular section meetings showcasing the breadth and diversity of Toxinology research in the region, reflecting the diversity and abundance of venomous and poisonous fauna in the region.
